Hey I have a question about my maidenhair and fertilizing. She’s been popping out new fronds like CRAZY and has a bunch of white spores on her leaves which is good. I’ve read that I shouldn’t fertilize her in late August, but are there plant indications that it’d be safe to fertilize her?
Hello! So it turns out I have adopted a very finicky species of fern for my second go of having plants in my apartment… but she was so pretty. Wish me luck!! (The african violet gets moved during misting)
Yall. I’m having one hell of a time with this Tiger Fern. She looks much worse than this picture from last week. Crispy crispy leaves. Was doing well for a month or so. Might be my air conditioning canceling out my humidifier. I moved her to my bathroom. Her new growth is looking rough too. Help! I pride myself on all my complex difficult plants thriving. She might be a majesty palm in disguise 😂 (IYKUK). This one is my mortal enemy. Help me before I help her into the trash! 😊
Help! My small fern (fernie) is looking sad. I watered her today and moved her to a bit of sunshine coming through the window. Just before i left and she was looking alright but then when i came back she looked like this.
She’s new and has gotten a lil crispy.. I think she needs to be repotted. Any tips ?

Please help :((( i picked up this fern who looked super healthy from the store last friday. After a few days of being in my apartment she has been flopped over like this. the orange stuff is cinnamon, when i got home i saw it had mold on the top so i scooped that out and sprinkled some cinnamon on top. After i watered her it became a bit less floppy for a day, then flopped down again :( i keep it in bright indirect light near the window and have played with higher and lower light and got the same results. tempted to water again since it helped a bit last time, but the soil is still slightly moist and i don’t want to cause root rot :( i have started misting it a few times a day and it hasn’t helped. no draft or heater nearby. they weren’t sure what type of fern this was, it might be a boston fern but the leaf shape is slightly different. they guessed it was an Eastern Wood.
how bad did I mess up? My outdoor fern was neglected and browning in the hot Houston heat. I took it out of the pot and REALLY cut down the roots to only the strongest ones at the very bottom of the fronds. I then repotted only to realize that I chose too big of a vessel. I also realized that the small amount of roots might not be enough to support the fronds I left, so i trimmed the fronds to about an inch and placed in a small nursery pot. She’s now resting in her small nursery pot with her terrible haircut. Hoping for the best and going to be patient with her.

Hello! I have only gotten this boston fern last weekend, its name is fernie :). i am new to ferns so can anyone tell me. Is this a sign of pests or dead fronds, or is this a new fronds about to unveil? I just noticed it right now
Good morning! I have two hanging ferns (10 in pots) and it is time to fertilize them. They are outside and I am in southeast Georgia so I don’t want to over do it. What type of fertilizer and ratio of elements is best for ferns? There are so many differing opinions! Also, do I use Epsom Salt water instead of fertilizer or use both? HELP!!!!

Got this Boston Fern from an old couple on marketplace. They have been growing this for 10 years. Its huge. It was much larger and fuller. I added a humidifier and consistently water. But it has excessive shedding and leaves are brittle. The pot is huge. I do not want to repot it. Could I fix this and not let it die? I feel horrible. I will be moving it to my balcony come late April when temperatures are better.
It was a dying dull fern plant I got from a garden centre on a sale over a week ago in early March, thinking it would prosper with good care in my living room. Hey plant people 👋 I could use some advice on this autumn fern. Planta has identified as dryopteris erythrosora variety but I’m not 100% sure, does anyone have any other suggestions? It has very tough leaves, not soft and tender like a lot of ferns. It also hasn’t seemed to put any new growth out in the last couple months since I got it (summer in aus so should be? 🤷♀️) And is quite black looking around the base, is this normal? 💚🌿

Hi! This is Gully, he’s a frosted fern. I got him sometime in December and he’s been doing great, up until now. I left for a five day vacation last week and watered him thoroughly before. I thought he’d be fine for that amount of time, but I was very wrong 😭. I think there’s still a chance of saving him, but I don’t know how. Any advice is appreciated! Please help!
