A couple of my plants have gotten infested by thrips/aphids recently so I've been vigilant about pest checks and prevention. Checked on my black rabbit foot fern this morning and started freaking out thinking he'd gotten thrips due to all the white specks on its new fronds. Turns out he's just happy and putting out tons of new growth, and the white specks are pieces of fuzz from the rhizome!! I just couldn't see any of the new growth up close until now LOL Also, if anyone else has a rabbit foot fern, do you trim growth off the lower part of the rhizome to keep it visible or just let the plant go crazy?
