What is happening!!! 😳 My plant was fine and now it’s drying up and dying one leaf at at time. Help!!

hello all! i am new to plants and picked up this beauty from the rescue section at lowe's the other day! how does she look/any tips for beginners?

I noticed the leaves were looking a bit sad yesterday and realized I needed to water it. After I watered it it looked fine and some of the sad leaves started to look normal but today after work it once again looked even sadder then before. I know this plant is a bit sentimental, and I don't want to kill it😅 The less sad photo was from a week ago and the sad photo is from today.

So I bought this other peacock prayer plant yesterday thinking it was a different variant than the one I currently have because it has the purple underside and the one that I currently have doesn't it's the same color on top as it is on the bottom sort of just translucent, but still beautiful, so when I went to identify it it told me that the one that I had was supposed to be maroon 🤦‍♀️😭 and was either getting too much light or not enough light. I have it in an east-facing window currently. I feel so bad for my plant now, The second picture is the smaller prayer plant the OG one and that's a picture of the underside😩🦚🙏🪴

Bragging rights 🤭 From last spring to now! I discovered she had a root plug, and since removal, SO happy! I tried practically selling my soul to get it to live, now it thrives from a little neglect and a $10 grow light bulb.

Hi! My prayer plant is yellowing and needs to be repotted. Do I cut the yellow leaves when I repot or leave them? New to plants 😬

Just rescued this beauty for £1 from the "reduced to clear" bin of a garden centre (no idea why it was there really!!!). Repotted the poor thing and gave it some support for its stem. So. First time prayer plant keeper here. After researching, I'm now hearing they can be divas sometimes... is this true? 😂 I'd love to hear anyones advice for a novice, so that I can give this abandoned lil dude its best chance at life. Thank you! 🫶 🌱

Hi! My prayer plan has some leaves that have this residue on it. Not sure what this is and if anyone else knows? I tried wiping with wet paper towel and alcohol wipe but it’s still there. Another leaf has these little dots on it. Overall, the plant looks healthy with new leaves and flowers

Hi, can anyone help me to figure out what’s going on with my calathea please? I just cut all these brown and yellow leaves off and her leaves are really drooping.

This was the last Calathea I had that I hadn’t totally killed. Started using distilled water. I wish I had done it sooner 😣

I really messed up and fertilized and over-watered my girl! She was so healthy, and now leaves won’t open and many died, I did save some of her by aerating the pot and letting her dry out. I’ve cut off a lot of dead and dying pieces, and had to pull 2 dead plants from the big pot, leaving 3 decent plants to nurture.

Good news and bad news… my Calathea white fusion was doing great - producing huge leaves and lots of new growth and is even flowering. But today I noticed it’s got spider mites. It didn’t have pests 10 days ago. I just bought predatory spider mites and hope it gets the job done. I’ve tried alcohol-soap mix and it doesn’t seem to help and dries up the plants leaves. The smell of neem oil inside my house bothers me. I hope the predatory mites can save my plant before too much leaf damage

It's really hard to see in photos, but my red prayer plant is doing the super rare thing and blooming indoors right now 😩🥹🙏🪴💜 it must love my sunroom, when I bought it a few months ago from Lowe's it had a ton of dead flowers on it and I thought it's season was over, then I find out that they RARELY bloom indoors, and even more rarely in the middle of October 🤸‍♀️🤗

Hello every one ! I got my calathea medallion over summer in August and she has been doing wonderful until recently. I moved to college and I think the lighting and maybe the atmosphere is making her sick :( I wanted to ask if anyone had advice or could identify points of error ?? I think she might have spider mites but I’m uncertain what action to take (she’s my first plant 😭🙏)

I bought my beauty star a few months ago without knowing how notoriously finicky and hard to care for they- I fell for her beauty ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I originally was watering with tap water but switched to room temp filtered water after noticing her brown leaves and doing some research. She’s watered once a week after I check that the top inch of soil isn’t wet. She’s fertilized every other week. She’s been putting out leaves. She has a new stem growing and at least 2 new leaves growing at the moment. The problem is she doesn’t close up at night like she used to. She stays like this all day. I have her about 2 feet away from a SW Facing window. Any help appreciated!

Hi everyone! I’ve had this rattlesnake calathea for a while but have had to trim leaves for various reason - lately it’s been a little fungal leaf infection. I was wondering if it looks like it should be planted deeper in the pot or if it’s okay for all that stuff to be above the soil. I think it’s mostly stubs from me chopping leaves. Thanks in advance!
