Two spot spider mites keep coming back! My Calathea white fusion keeps getting small infestations of mites. Nothing seems to work to get rid of them except beneficial insects (predatory spider mites), but theyâre pricey. My Calathea reacts badly to neem, soap, and alcohol spray, so I canât use that. Humidity in the room is good enough for my orchids, so I assume itâs OK for my Calathea. But the mites still return.
Has anyone tried Arber bio insecticide and does it work? What about systemic insecticides that spider mites are not immune to? Any advice is appreciated.

miss Maranta leuconeura is always the star of the show. I am really loving caring for her and want a silver band and a red maranta to add! (the tip of the leaf I am holding was lovingly perforated by ones of my cats while it was unfurling lol)

Can anyone give me any tips ? I bought my rattlesnake from a local nursery on 4/30/25 (first picture is the day I got her) she was placed in a very low light spot (@ nursery) and had a few spots/rips on some leaves, but she was the only one they had. Iâve only watered her once since getting her (5/2/25 bottom watering w/ bottled water & liquid indoor plant food about 30 min.) she was completely dry. She has put out at least 3 new leaves since coming home. Picture 3 with the yellowing/ crisping leaf is one of the new leaves she just put out and Iâm very confused on why it looks like that already?? Sheâs probably 8-9ish feet from a south facing window in a nursery pot. I live in a small apartment with a bad ass cat, 1 south facing and 1 north facing window so not a lot of light/space but I am working on getting a few grow lights( PLEASE recommend some good/budget friendly ones if you know any!!). I also plan on repotting her into a clear nursery pot.

Adopted this prayer plant off of Facebook from someone who was tired of it not improving. Any tips for saving it? It doesn't seem to have much of a root system, so any advice on propagation/next steps would be appreciated!

Hi. My lemon lime Maranta folds her leaves WAY back during the day and barely picks them up at night. Possibilities I've read are: 1. that she was getting too much light so I moved her to a slightly shadier spot 2. that she needed more humidity so I gave her some damp moss under her pot in an area that stays between 40 and 50% humidity or 3. that she could be root bound, which is what I'm looking at today. Is she root bound? In a garden/food plant I would say no but this is my first Maranta and I'm not sure what they consider to be root bound. Her pot is 3 1/2", if I pot her up should she go to a 4" or a 5"? Thank you so much!

What tf happened in 20 days (these photos are 20 days apart)??! Iâve had this plant for three months now and in the last 5 days it started going yellow! Help!
Ps I trimmed off some leaves a few days ago, thinking that this plant might be sensitive to it? Or is it over watered ⊠Iâm following plantas advice but skipping it when itâs still wet. OH also could it be from the ac being on? Thoughts? Suggestions??

I just got my first Prayer Plant today! I was inspired to return to being a plant mom after listening to Ologies by Alie Wardâs episode on Houseplants featuring Tyler Thrasher. I highly recommend listening to the episode and following both Alie and Tyler.
Iâm hopeful about this new journey. I'm excited to start it on this platform with other Prayer Plant folks to get support along the way!

Picture on the right is when I first got her. Those three little leaves have since opened, and pic on the left is another little leaf getting ready to come out! I'm too excited. đ I've always been the worst with plants and I read somewhere these plants are pretty slow growing. Maybe where it's spring or maybe incorrect info? Idk. Happy regardless! lol I did notice while watering her there is some new root growth coming from the drainage holes, but just barely. Does that mean she needs to be repotted? I seen someone say on here to wait a month after bringing a new plant home before repotting. I've had her for about two weeks now.

Can someone please explain to me how half of my leaves are all green (various life stages) and the other half have the reddish spot all over them? This is a prop from another plant I used to have that was all green for the 5 years I had her. TIA!

Brought this little guy home today and he seems relatively healthy? I'm new to caring for plants and have been doing a lot of research. I didn't realize that curled leaves could mean underwatering. Is that why I have some curled leaves on my plant, or is that how new leaves start out? Also, some brown tips to the leaves that seem to have gotten worse throughout the day. I'm thinking about taking him to our bathroom for a few days to see if humidity helps. I haven't watered him today because his soil is pretty moist. Any care advice?
