Hi friends, hoping you’ll give me your wise wonderful opinions! This is my Polly that’s lived in this pot in the bathroom for almost 2 yrs. She gets indirect light from a west window. She started with around 5 leaves and has been propped and chopped a few times, clearly loves it here! My question is: would you repot her? I know it’s probably time, but I’m also of the school that if it ain’t broke… I water with Liqui-Dirt so I’m not concerned about her needing new soil for nutrients. Thoughts???

My “Stella” Calathea isn’t doing so well. I’m thinking it’s from too much Lyme. What do you guys think and what can I do to save it. I unfortunately don’t have rainwater (which I believe is what helps with Lyme sensitivity) and live in Az so it doesn’t rain that often here.

This is my Rattlesnake plant and I wanted to knows why the leaves die so quickly, and why the tips are a little brown. It’s actually not super bad but I want it to be happy 😊. It lives in my kitchen (not super humid) I water it whenever it looks like it needs it or feels dry( bottom watering), I transplanted it not too long ago. I put it in the bathroom when I showered today in hopes it will get humidity. It gets direct sunlight for about 2 hours and indirect sunlight after.

Hi, I’m at first time plant mom and purchased a couple of prayer plants. The company shipped me replacement plants, but they look like small nursery plants. I plan to repot them because I feel like they will outgrow this pot pretty soon. What pot size should I purchase so that it has room to grow but not so big that they begin to die? Also any recommendations on soil type? I’ve never repotted a plant before.

Is it possible to propagate a prayer plant because I have one and my mom was wondering if I could figure out how to so that she can have one too.

My maranta leaves are curling like they’re under watered. But I have it in semi-hydro with LECA and the roots look great. What else could be making these leaves act like this?

Help! She won’t grow new leaves and idk what the leaves she has are going through. Dr. Planta says overwatering but I’m following the water schedule. I also repotted her in well draining soil so idk what she’s telling me.

I am trying to figure out humidity needs for my new prayer plant. When she came home from the store, a few of her leaf tips were brown. A few days ago, I noticed that some of the good leaves were curling slightly at the ends. Two nights ago I got, what I hope is, a brilliant idea: My pepper and tomato seedlings are growing under plastic domes with a warming mat. The last two nights I’ve put the prayer plant under the dome. I’m wondering though if going from that warm and humid environment to my rather dry home during the day is too big of a change. Will it stress the plant? I also am trying a diffuser right next to her during the day. Not sure diffusers produce enough humidity to make a difference. Thoughts?

so i cut off some of my more leggy stems on my prayer plant to propogate. i put it back into the soul cause i just watered yesterday. will this still produce leaves?

Where are you supposed to cut a prayer plant for propagation? I have tried propagating three different leaves, but to no avail… Or am I just not waiting long enough? I gave it a month to root and it never did :( The picture I included is the prayer plant I tried to propagate, but instead of the Lemon-Lime variety, it was the Red one I tried to propagate…

Well, I learned something! Note the difference in the darkness level of the markings on my maranta. That is due to how much light the plant was getting. I didn’t know how low-light the plant’s original spot had been (due to it putting out new leaves like crazy regardless) until I tried a spot with much more light. The new leaves (formed during its time in a brighter spot) have a much more distinctive pattern. Learn from my mistake!
