My little Dendrobium cork mount is considering blooming. I might get one flower this year. đ Iâve been struggling to get it to bloom. The cork mount has been in cooler temps for a while now (itâs been under a grow light in the garage where itâs cold). Should I bring it back to warmer temperatures (inside the house) and start fertilizing again? Should I water more frequently now too? Thanks in advance for your advice. â€ïžâ€ïžđȘŽâ€ïžâ€ïž

Checked out my orchidâs root situation and I found it all tied to a plug and I had to chop a bunch of rotted roots off. Can I take it out of the plug and how do I repot safely?

Hi everyone, Iâm having a hard time keeping my orchid healthy. I recently repotted them and realized I was overwatering them, most of the roots were rotten. I removed the rotten roots, replaced the soil (used orchid soil) and since they were still kind of moist, I skipped a watering rotation. Now the leaves and stems are dry, however I checked the soil and roots and theyâre super wet and even mushy (I had to squeeze the water out of one) At this point Iâm not sure if I need to water them because the stems and leaves are dry or not water them because the soil is very wet. Lastly I keep them near a window, but itâs part shade. Should I keep them outside (considering I live in FL) in order for them to get more sun?

Hiya! First time orchid keeper here, just bought this beauty that was VERY helpfully just called "orchid" on its label đ... Could someone help identify please what type of orchid exactly this is? Is it a moth orchid (there seem to be a few variants)? Welcoming any and all advice as well. Thank you!
I need some help figuring out what is wrong with my orchid. I came home and found that two of the leaves had become yellow and came off easily. The roots of the orchid look good so Iâm not sure what is causing it. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Itâs funny, I wrote a post here like two years ago about some new plants I got. And one of them was ripped to shreds by my cat and the other died in transit when I moved cross country, and people are finding and liking this post now and I love that but also I miss those plants.
Hey guys, I had this orchid plant ready for three years and today she looks her worst. I cut all the dead roots off and I repotted her and watered her. Is there anything I can do to keep her from dying all the way I really wish I could grow some more flowers.
Hereâs my other orchid, the momma orchid. Iâve tried different mediums but finally found the right recipe of bark and watering. Her leaves have gotten bigger and stronger over time. Now she has a new stem coming out! I think itâs a new flower stem! I might have to get a stick in there to help guide it upwards. Oh, and a few new root buds poking out under the roots.

Iâm not sure why my Dendrobium leaves are turning purple. Is it getting too much light, too cold, winter blues?? I have a very hard time getting it to bloom and Iâve had these plants for many years. Does the plant look too immature to bloom? Iâm trying to give it a cool (45-55F) and dry-ish winter to encourage it to bloom. It is under bright plant lights. The canes are small and I seem to get lots of tiny orchid baby plants, but no flowers. The moss is top dressing and the plants are in orchid bark. Can anyone help me figure out what Iâm doing wrong?
New year new growth! Iâd love to see any new blooms or growth on your orchids! Bonus points for vanilla planifolia (Kinda obsessed with orchids right now :)
I acquired this baby orchid in August of 2025. It took some trial and error but I think I found the right watering schedule. And now I have new growth! At first I thought it was a new flower stem, but now I think itâs a new âplantâ from one of the original nodes. Should I go ahead and cut it and move it to its own pot? Any advice is appreciated! My Oncidium âTwinkleâ orchids are blooming đ. They have a light vanilla-ish fragrance. The bulbs are really small so Iâm surprised they produced flower spikes, but Iâm glad it did.
Does anyone know what a lianher lion looks like? Anyone have one they can show? Thank you!
