Sooo I’m new at this… The blooms on my moth/waterfall orchid are starting to droop, specifically the ones lowest on the stem. I’ve been throwing a few ice cubes in once a week. Is this wrong and what should I do to fix it? TIA

OMG!!! My fist ever orchid is giving a new stem!!! Finally after 2 years of being bloomless she’s gonna have flowers soon!!! All thanks to this groups wonderful advice! Thank you!!! Any ideas how to gently redirect the stem out from under the leaf?

My Orchid finally bloomed 😍

3rd time trying to keep orchids alive and actually trying this time. I got 3 rescues from the grocery store 2 days ago and just today I finally repotted them with orchid bark. How is there spot I chose and is there any tips I should know?

Is this a flower spike coming in? Or is it just an aerial root. It looks different than other aerial roots that’s why I’m asking. This is my first orchid and I’ve only had it about 2 months, I got it at plant con in Dallas.

I noticed this new growth a little bit ago (maybe a month ago) and with the help of this community decided it wasn’t some alien but probably just new flowers. When do you think it’s going to bloom? It feels like it’s grown so slow but also so fast at the same time lol.

Is it normal for orchids old leaves to yellow, it’s been slow but I feel like the bottom leaves have slowly been yellowing and wrinkling. She seems happy since she just put out a new leave and is growing a Bud off of an old stem but I’m still worried.

Brassavola nodosa ’Little stars’ Looks like it will put out three spikes this time. Yay!

I’ve had this Moth Orchid for about a year and when I got her she had beautiful blooms. When all of the flowers ended up dying or falling off I cut it back to one of the little nodules like I saw you were supposed to. Now she has these leaves and “stems” growing out from where I cut her back! I was just wondering if she would bloom again? And also wondering if I should’ve cut her back closer to the base? She is still producing leaves at the base tho!

What’s the deal with Oliver here? He’s been stuck with the one stalk for about 3 months now. Should I cut it back a node and wait for flowers or cut it off completely and let him go into full rest mode?

I have this vanda orchid that I want to “re-pot” she’s out growing the black container she’s in and the wire is too long to hang anywhere in the house. Is it worth doing? Any recommendations on what to do?

I just wanted to show off my Paphiopedilum “Jeweled Eyes” orchid!! I got her back in January so this is my first bloom!

Is this a new stem? Or an aerial root?

Has anyone had luck with their orchid reblooming after cutting the stem all the way back? Mine died before I could cut it off between an open and closed node. She’s put out a brand new leaf and overall looks happy but she’s been like this for awhile and am just wondering how long it takes for them to show any signs of reblooming. Thanks!

I’ve had this newish Epicattelya Rene Marques but I was uncertain it would survive as it was a bit of a rescue. Despite some dehydration, and pleating of a few leaves, it bounced back and grew more than I expected it to. So much so, that I have 2…sheaths (?) shown in the photo, but I’m not sure as these are pretty new types for me. I realize because of the set back, they may not actually bloom- but it’s moving in the right direction. Any experience with this orchid, particularly about the blooming process and what I might expect would be awesome. Thanks pals!
