I inherited this batch from my sister-in-law because she moved. My husband brought them home and they were outside in a cardboard box for a couple days. I brought them in and they have been sitting waiting for the weekend to be repotted. Unsure what to do about all these yellow leaves… Help please! I already took off a bunch of yellow leaves; my question is should I take these off? Are the plants that are super yellow worth saving? Again, guidance is appreciated!

Hello there, this is my first ever post. I would love some advice for my mini orchid. I don’t know if it’s worth saving. I can’t even remember how long I have it but it’s been a few years and it’s not growing anymore so I thought I could try to repot it. The leaves have turned reddish brown and some of the roots are greyish. I water it using the planta app schedule. Yesterday I soaked it. I ordered a 5.5 in pot but it may be too big. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi all I’m not really an orchid person however my grandma has two orchids that she’s been caring for for some time now. She’s looking to repot the orchids into water, do yall have any recommendations, tip, and or warnings about doing this? Any advice would be appreciated!

Finally starting to open! It’s always a surprise when this Speciosa hybrid blooms- the color combos on each flower is so variable, you never know what you’ll get. I’ll put a pic in the comments to show off all the other spikes on this baby. I think there are like 15 buds total- the most I’ve ever seen on this orchid. 😍

My moth orchard is around 1yr old. She was delicately flowering when I bought her and I've tried to care for her with Planta's assistance. My concern is her leaves don't look as strong as they have been - at least the lower ones. I use a growlight with her indoors. Now I confess, we had a power failure with some storms that rolled through and I didn't realize the light was not set right. It took 2days for me to set it correctly. It had a waterbath with orchid fertilizer yesterday. Is she ok? Is she sick? What can I help her with?

Friends, do you recommend I wait until the flower stalks are dried and brown before cutting them off or is it OK to remove it after the last flower drops? The stalk is a pencil diameter thick at the base. My thought is if I leave it, the plant will continue to “feed” the old flower stalk. But maybe if I leave it and wait until it’s dried the plant could also “recycle” the nutrients in the stalk. Maybe this is all crazy talk 🤪 What do you recommend?

I need repotting advice for my Oncidium. The newest bulbs are “elevated” or growing above the old bulbs (wrinkled ones) and I’m not sure how to repot the plant. I want to make sure the new bulb roots are in the bark mix, but I don’t want to bury the old bulbs. I’ve been using moss to keep the newer roots covered. Any suggestions for how to repot would be appreciated. Thanks 🙏

So, I’ve always been a “leafy greens” kind of girl and not so much a flowers girl, but my partner gifted me an orchid for mother’s day and I’m officially humbled. The care is different from what I’m used to and the potting medium and roots definitely made me work when I repotted it — but I’m worried I botched it lol. Can someone please tell me if this plant needs correcting before I end up accidentally committing plant murder? 😭

Is this leaf just going through the natural cycle of leaves (dying off to make space for new) or is something wrong? The rest are still solid green and feel full of water. This one is thin and translucent. Thanks!

My poor orchid is having some leaf struggles. Any ideas what might be going on? The blooms still look lovely and I didn’t find any pests. I can see that the air roots are a bit shriveled but her bottom roots are a nice, juicy green.
