hii peoplee ive got more orchid questions! i got this orchid a very long time ago and it was left forgotten in a bedroom window unfortunately. i started fixing it up a few months ago and i changed out the bark and watered it as much as i water my bigger moth orchid because i BELIEVE that’s what this is, it hasn’t had flowers in a very long time so its hard to be sure. I’ve checked the roots quite recently, they seemed healthy and i cut the dead one out so im not sure what the issue is but this plant just wont grow anything but leaves. 😞 the leaves have grown a lot, theyre a lot brighter and a lot bigger but i just cant get it to grow a little plantlet or flower. someone please help so i can grow this little baby again.

How strange! My orchids had been in bloom for months and the blooms are already starting to fall off. But now! I’ve got 3 more blooms growing and it looks like the stem is continuing to grow! I didn’t know they could do that!

I just discovered a couple of small mealy bugs on my orchid - one on the flower and another on a leaf. I wiped the bug off with a q tip, but I bet there’s more that I can’t see. How do I get rid of mealy bugs on my orchid that’s in bloom? I haven’t had mealy bug problems before and the orchid lives next to other orchids and indoor plants on a bookshelf. Should I repot ALL the plants on the shelf? I’m worried about repotting while the orchid is in bloom. What percentage of isopropyl alcohol do you use to spray the bugs? Will hydrogen peroxide kill the bugs that could be in the potting media?

I’ve had my beautiful orchid my kids gave me for about 6yrs now, it has bloomed 4-5 times. It’s always been indoors. It went dormant for 2 years and just finished blooming for its 2nd time this year. What do I do now, it currently looks like this-(I watered it today and brought it outside to enjoy the humidity and indirect light here today. Any help greatly appreciated!

Tips for rescuing a clearance shelf orchid who is looking sad ??? I put it in a north east facing window that just gets direct sunlight in the morning, gave it orchid food spray, and plan to change the pot and soil to a larger one with orchid substrate. Any tips are greatly appreciated, I’m new to the orchid community :)

I’ve never had an orchid live this long!!! The blooms have fallen (I learned this is normal). Do I now trim the stem? Where?

So …. The orchid that had rot is drooping ! I need help idk what it is it gets a normal watering so it’s not that ! Does it need more sunlight it hasn’t been getting a lot because it’s in quarantine ? I don’t want this baby to die please help me !

I clipped my orchid stems and put them in water since all the blooms were open, and I noticed these two nodes are sprouting. Any advice on how I might be able to keep it growing? If that’s possible?
I’m assuming no, but I put it in a propagation jar anyway and I’m curious if anyone has experienced this with successful growth.

Pleated leaves on the new growth of my Oncidium Sharry Baby 😕. The pleats are vertical on the leaf. I don’t see any horizontal pleats. What am I doing wrong?
I regularly water following the schedule and when I last repotted the plant (a few months ago) the roots were very healthy. The plant is in fresh oncidium bark from Repotme.com and I see new root growth. Moss is only on top of the pot. The bulbs feel firm. I’ve got a little humidity tray too. I don’t open the window by the orchid and it doesn’t get exposed to direct sunlight (west facing window). I don’t mist the plant as I read that doesn’t significantly increase humidity for too long and can cause other problems. Can you provide suggestions to improve growing conditions? Should I unpot it to check the roots or increase water frequency? BTW, I’m using the apps advice for watering schedule.

I’ve had a phalaenopsis for over 3 years, it blooms nicely for me several times a year. It is in a clear orchid pot in orchid bark and is watered and fertilized properly. It has gotten too big! Roots coming out the bottom of the pot, and the whole thing is growing sideways I think because it is pushing itself out of the pot. It is already in a 17 cm pot and I can’t find any bigger ones. What recommendations have you? Just leave it? Trim down roots so it fits better? I don’t really want it in a pot that isn’t clear, then I can’t see when it needs water. Thanks!

I think my orchid has crown rot (no idea how it got it I only bottom water and all my other orchids are healthy and thriving) do you guys think it’s crown rot and what should I do her leaves keep falling off :(

These orchids are in full bloom for the first time in my care! My friend gifted this to me back in 2023 and they got root rot almost immediately. I wasn’t sure they were gonna make it since most of the roots were lost, but verrryy slowly they bounced back, and I’m so proud! 🥹

Do NOT put your orchids in water !
Ok so my orchid was in water for a little and had been doing great but when I checked the roots they had fell off and were completely rotted ! I saw this all over the internet and I thought it would be good but no don’t do this !!! I repotted her into a chunky orchid mix and had to cut off most of her roots ! She is doing fine now but just know never do this !
