Bough this miracle grow orchid potting mix. Looks nothing like the picture on the bag. I thought it would be mostly bark. Will this still be okay for my orchid or do I need to get something else?

    I buy that brand too and it’s usually much chunkier. You could get a bag of just bark and mix them?

      Yeah the review pictures were also chunkier I think I got a bad bag. I’ll have to get some bark but I had nothing to put it in. So it’ll have to wait a little.

    Don’t use that, it will hold waaaayyy too much water and you’ll definitely get root rot. Orchids like lots of airflow around their roots. If you are planning on getting bark, just plant it in bark. Don’t mix the soil in.

    Maybe the bark settled? I've had soil do that in the past

      I dug to the bottom unfortunately I think I just got a bad bag.

    It looks old and broken down. I would return it. That’s definitely not right.

    Don’t use that: just get a bag of orchid bark.

      I plan to once it’s done blooming I don’t want to stress it out anymore at this point
