I received this as a gift and know nothing about orchids. It looks like it needs to be repotted (roots are growing out of the pot). Is it safe to do so now? How do I go about the process? Any help is appreciated!!

It’s best to wait until it’s finished flowering and been pruned. I can’t quite tell from the photos but I think it might benefit from a different soil, orchids are quite fond of potting mix with bark as they need lots of air, which leads onto the final point of don’t cover all the roots when repotting. Hope this helps x

+1 to all that. And orchid roots often stick out of the soil unlike most other plants, in and of itself that’s not a problem!
