My orchid was overwatered and had root rot, so I recently repotted it. I had to cut off quite a bit of roots, and repotted it in an orchid bark mix. Now, my leaves are leathery and drooping and the stem and flowers are also drooping. Any idea what’s wrong?

How long ago did you chop the roots? Likely I think the plant is in some shock after loosing a good precent of its roots. The first thing to drop in an instance like this are the flower spike. The leather dry leaves are also normal. With time new roots will grow and the plant will rebound. It will most likely loose the flower spike, but it will definitely loose all the existing flowers. There’s ways to get the spike to grow new flowers, you can and should google that. But with time and light fertilization the plant will grow new spikes.

I agreed. Cut off the flower spike as that will use a lot of the plant’s energy that needs to go to the roots and plumping up the leaves. Also I would maybe place each orchid in a smaller clear plastic pot with holes (orchids like to be snug in a pot) and then add in some moss with medium bark to help retaining some moisture.

It’s just a little dehydrated because of loss of roots. Be patient- don’t compound the problem by overwatering again. Water your orchid, wait for the medium to dry thoroughly, then water again. Phalaenopsis don’t need to stay damp all the time.
