Transplanted my Orchard to leca and now there white fuzzy stuff around the roots.

      Unfortunately I don’t have experience with growing orchids in leca so I can only offer educated guesses. I would remove the dead roots so that the rot doesn’t spread. Depending on the extent of the mold, you might consider replacing the media or sterilizing it. Mold occurs in the presence of excess moisture. I would make sure that water does not remain in the pot. If it doesn’t have a drainage hole, I would add one or move to a pot with one. When did you move it into leca?

    Before transplanting it, did you remove all the dead roots? I think that the mold is likely from dead plant matter

    You will absolutely need to repot and clean the roots thoroughly. I would spray them with hydrogen peroxide. As stated above, get rid of any dead roots. I would think that you had some mold spores in your leca or dead root matter. Leca tends to be one of the most dry media, so unless you had it in standing water the majority of the time, I would think it was mold that was there when you repotted. If you plan to reuse that leca, I’d wash it thoroughly or you’ll be right back where you are.
