I got this new terrarium as a guest gift for attending a wedding. It came with a cute note from the bride and groom saying essentially “take care of this terrarium as you would a loving relationship.” So my boyfriend and I take care of it like it’s our child. We didn’t think it would survive longer than a month because we’ve never taken care of a terrarium before and we didn’t really do much other than spray it with water once a month or so. It is now about 4 months old! Last month, we trimmed any dead or overgrown foliage. We’re so happy that it’s still alive!

Blue shrimp jar update 🦐 Was dealing with personal obstacles and stopped taking care of it for a few months. Sadly, a lot of the shrimp died off. This is it after a heavy trim and new rocks added ✨⭐️ Hoping to see the shrimp population to bounce back

Happy Hoya… Hi plant friends - I have 1 Hoya Flamingo Dream & just received 2 other Hoya species These are Hoya sp Villosa & Callistophylla. Do these stay within a dormancy stage in winter as my initial Flamingo is in leaf but hasn’t grown since purchase ( b4 Xmas). What are hints & tips in reference to soil substrate, watering and feed type to kick start the thriving stage rather than the surviving stage 😀 Thx in advance …. Chris

Hi everyone, I'm planning to make a load of terrariums with repurposed glass jars I've got. Excited! I've read that pilea peperomioides works well in a terrarium as they like humidity. Luckily I have tonnes of them and recently I've noticed there are plenty of teeny babies popping up, which is good timing! My question is: should I water propogate them first? Or can I get away with popping them straight in the substrate in the terrarium? (I bought special terrarium soil)

My first one. Yay, nay? I just know these dont live without a terrarium especially in this climate. I think fittonias are rly pretty and haven't tried in many years. I originally used perlite as the drain layer but I messed up and ended up just mixing it all. Id like to add moss but I dont have any. 😔

Big Pokémon terrarium featuring Bulbasaur sporting two air plants and his Pokeball. The plants are a mini pink Syngonium, Frog Feet Ficus and the air plants in a large glass jar that once housed ice cream cones at our local pharmacy/soda fountain. Covid put the soda fountain out of business.

My very first terrarium featuring a golden bug on a "log". The plants are tillandsia (air plant), Blue Baby Tears, Heart Hoya (leaf only), and British Soldiers lichen in a large squarish jar.

I made my first mini terrarium yesterday. I have been saving interesting liquor bottles to use. Nerve Plant in a gin bottle.

Just got this all set up. The waterfall needs a few adjustments but I’m excited to see this grow and fill out. Can you spot and identify any plants? Tree frog & cherry shrimp coming soon…

This spring I added a cork to this terrarium and the fern finally started thriving. It's kind of a jungle now. Should I remove some of it?

I tediously put back the pink panther in her terrarium and the mom plant is coming back stronger then ever and is already ready to be pruned again 🥲🫠 I didn’t think this through so any tips going forward with little roots? How do you guys put yours together? I added the water they were rooted in I heard that helps? Hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday! It’s my plant chore day too!
