Does anyone know if you can propagate a fishbone prayer plant from a leaf cutting? Iām not quite sure how to propagate it.
Just wanted to share something cool my tri-color tradescantia is doing! Iām propagating this cutting I got from a coworker and a leaf popped up underneath the water! It keeps getting bigger and Iāve never seen a plant do this while being propagated. Maybe Iām just still new to it, but if someone has an explanation thatād be appreciated :)
Had some of these clear boxes and thought Iād make little prop boxes for some wet sticks. Only had extra sphagnum peat moss on hand so using that and weāll see how it goes. Theyāre not super tall so Iām making sure to āburpā them every day for a few minutes to help with air flow. Got some monstera standleyana, Phil. micans, silver stripe, scin. treubii moonlight, krimson princess, and satin pothos in there.
Thank you guys for the input⦠since i have a lotta african mask corms iām gonna try this experiment to see which works fastest : sphagnum, perlite, leca, pon, fluval stratum last one is classic water, then covering them with plastic cups to create humidity ! lets see how it goesā¦š¤£ which substrate is the ultimate alocasia propagatorš±š±š±
Has anyone had any luck cross-pollinating peperomias? I have some inflorescences and canāt find much literature. Thanks!
I repotted my alocasia african mask in the middle of the night, et voila harvested so many corms! iām excited to grow these babies! Iāve been watching so many videos on how to grow them, which one has been foolproof for you guys? appreciate in advance!
My porcelain jade has this one long strand and Iām wanting to try prop it. I started this plant from a single leaf that I got from my husbandās grandma a few years ago. Do I chop the vine and prop that? Or take a leaf and try it that way? Iām scared because I donāt want to hurt her! Sheās my first and most special plant baby!
Propagating my dragon tree. I know from previous attempts the cuttings will take off but are the roots/base worth my time? Will it take off? I hated doing this but it was too tall and outgrew my house.
I put a spider plant clipping into soil (from a water prop) a couple months ago and itās grown roots like crazy but very little leaf growth. Roots are growing out the drainage holes and seem pretty crowded at the bottom of the pot but it seems fast to repot it after itās only been in soil for 2 months or so. Any suggestions on what I should do?
I bought a tiny philodendron Brasil plant to hang in the half-bathroom on a shelf. Well, it took a massive tumble to the floor. I repotted it with fresh soil, and the mother plant is doing okay. However, these two leaves broke clean off in the fall. Iāve been trying to propagate them in water for a couple weeks, but there has been no change. Should I just plant them in soil and see what happens? (The brown is leftover soil I couldnāt get off from being in that original potted plant)
i love seeing root growth
Trying to propagate these string of turtles cuttings. Iām new to caring for plants, so any suggestions would be appreciated! Iām just keeping the ends in water and changing the water every few days. Is there a better way to do this? Are they looking ok? Should I keep it out of direct light?
Would it be ok to separate any of these babies and add to a new pot or is it better to let them get a lot more crowded in their pots? Iāve had them less than two years.
I just got a gorgeous top jade cutting from a prop swap, what is the best way for it to grow roots? In water or directly in like cactus soil?
The second picture is the finicky Polly , which is the mother plant. The first is the little baby Polly that I grew.
How would I propagate a lucky bamboo plant? Also is it possible to do so in water
Hello! I got this Alocasia a few weeks ago and sheās doing well with lots of mature leaves and already popped up 4 more! It looks like 3 separate plant at this point so Iām wondering if I should divide it? Nervous since Iāve never done a division of a plant this large!
So, I recently walked around one of my favorite local nurseries after a big freeze in hopes of finding my wish list plants with minimal damage and came across a philodendron micans with very small but seemingly healthy leaves. They are very pink, so they're going to be placed in my plant cabinet. Is there any tried and true tricks to get these babies popping out new growth?I plan on repotting it in about a week or so because the soil is so wet and cold. Will probably be using the same mix my PPP is in and loving
Dear Plant community members, I recently bought 4 beautiful tropical plants from a store in NY during my 1 day visit there and because I was in a hotel I had to leave the plants in the car in sub zero temperatures :(. I try to cover it with a blanket tho to give it somewhat protection but apparently that didnāt help. Please advise what can I do to bring them to life? Please help!
So I got outside cactus seeds today at Loweās and I wanna keep them as succulents tho idk how to start them please give me some tips!!!
