My porcelain jade has this one long strand and I’m wanting to try prop it. I started this plant from a single leaf that I got from my husband’s grandma a few years ago. Do I chop the vine and prop that? Or take a leaf and try it that way? I’m scared because I don’t want to hurt her! She’s my first and most special plant baby!

With porcelain jades stem cuttings are much easier to propagate than leaf cuttings, hope this helps!

She is beautiful 🤩 if you want to propagate you will need a node. Preferably with the stem as many Hoya can grow roots from the stem as we as the nodes. Have you seen those single leaf hoya kerrii everybody sells for Valentine’s Day? Well the reason people get so upset about them is because they stay as a single leaf. Most of the time they don’t have a node. If it were me I’d cut that long vine up into individual 2 leaf cuttings and buy them into a small cut of sphagnum moss or a prop box. Don’t be afraid to take cuttings from Hoya. It actually triggers new growth point on the mother plant. Good luck!
