How long do nanouks take to start having roots? I’ve been moving other props in with mine to see if it’ll help, but I’m getting a little discouraged. Nanouk on the left, pellonia on the right.

I’m pretty sure this is the right group for this, so here we go - i have a problem with impulsively taking the babies off my spider plant and throwing them in water when i see that they are a specific size lol. i have about 5 right now that are propagating in water. 2 or 3 of them are at the point where their roots are long enough to plant them in soil, but i don’t have enough pots to give them each their own. If i plant all 5 of them in, say, a 5-6 inch pot, will they get too cramped and have issues? or do spider plant enjoy being cramped? any feedback or ideas are greatly welcome :)

I am looking for recommendations on what I can plant on the side of my house. I’m very new to gardening so I need something tough 😅 but also safe for pets because we have outside pets. The side of the house I’m wanting to plant on doesn’t get much sun thought the day. I’d say by early afternoon it’s shaded over. I’m having a hard time finding something that doesn’t require full sun. I’m also in the Midwest if that helps. I was planning on moving my lavender to that spot but I didn’t realize that it needs full sun so I will have to move it to my other garden 😅

Should ficus roots (mine is a Ficus benghalensis "Audrey") look this red? I'm water propagating it. Most pics online are white or a bit orange (which is where mine started out) but this is like hot cheeto red now lol

I propagated a monstera deliciosa and I’m seeing two areas with root growth! Only the top one has an aerial root and the bottom one doesn’t, could I cut it and grow another plant with just the bottom roots or do I need that aerial root above?

I got this propagated mother of thousands about 6 months ago
it was growing new leaves fine. But recently now that the new leaves are growing, the leaves below it are dying off and now it’s just the base and the new leaves left. I don’t water super often (2-3 weeks maybe), it’s in a NE facing window, and the soil is a succulent mix I got from the nursery but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to save it? Is there a way to propagate what I have left?

I painted the ends in Keiki paste. Did I tip too much off the ends? Do I just mist daily? I tried putting plastic wrap with holes but it molded them the first time

Keiki paste. I purchased on Amazon because people on here continually mention it for propagating. Im new to using it and hoping for tips and tricks. I’ve heard to “notch”, or barely make a cut into each node before applying a thin layer of paste to promote growth. Is this true? What else do you do with Keiki paste?

I have a pearl and jade pothos and whenever I transfer the cuttings from water to soil, they die. Any recommendations?

I have a lovely prayer plant. I’m a novice of taking care of plants and I know this variety is persnickety but my 14 yr old daughter bought it when her dad died last year so I need to keep this thing alive. Anyway, it wasn’t doing very well well this winter and I read putting it into water might help it. Welp, I’ve now had it in water for six months. There are so many more leaves than before it was in water. I keep it by my pet snake so it can use the sun lamp. I’d like to plant it in dirt (the prayer plant, not the snake) but I’m afraid it’ll be used to the water. Thoughts? Help!

In the 4x5 I have nasturtiums, marigolds, and strawflower. In the 2x3 I have cactus. I’m suspicious of that one tall boi in the middle right row. I bet that’s a teaspoon tomato (They popped up everywhere on my island after hurricane Ian) and I used sand from my yard

I ordered a bunch of pothos cuttings off Etsy back in February to propagate. All but one of them have had new spouting and leaves. I also propped a couple cuttings from a nature plant we already had that needed to be pruned in April, and even one of them has already gotten new leaves. My lone prop is still alive. Leaves look healthy, still green. However there’s been absolutely zero signs of growth in it. My cat chomped this little guy early on (as well as a couple others) but the others quickly put out new leaves to compensate for the ones they lost. Again, plant seems totally healthy just zero new growth. Can it really take that long? Should I just keep waiting? He’s getting plenty of light and I’ve increased watering in all my plants recently since it gotten warmer and they’re drying out more. I used rooting hormone when propagating too.
