Hello! i just joined, but thought I'd share one of the more interesting propagating facts I learned from my grandpa. You can propagate an african violet just from a leaf. I have two right now, one is a propagation from my grandpa and the other is a propagation of a propagation. (Yes they need pruningđ«Ł)
I feel like i need to remove The bigger ones into their own Pots because I feel like they might be getting to much water because the smaller ones are still coming in. Should i Move them Or leave them? When do i stop Keeping them moist? I know im supposed to Keep them alone Until they have atleast 4 Leaves but im just Paranoid the bigger ones will Get Too much water.
Here are my willow tree cuttings from when I pruned a couple of branches! I cut them about 3 days ago and so far the leaves are still standing strong and havenât started wilting. So excited for them to root! Iâm thinking of giving some away to family and friends and probably sell the rest if thereâs some left over!!
Just propagated these friends from some cuts off my friends thriving plant! Iâm not sure if I have the correct species- they donât look completely like the pictures planta has. They almost look like a succulent type to me? Anywho⊠Iâm looking for some tips on how to grow my new guys! I can only dream of have this pot become as full and luscious as my friends mother plant!
My baby sun rose has been my best friend and the only plant Iâve been able to grow this well. Although itâs never made flowers, Iâm not really sure why that is. It got too big for its pot so I just moved it to a bigger one 2 days ago so he can stretch his legs. I made a few cuts to try to spread my guy out a little bit. The leaves arenât as glossy and firm as they usually are, Iâm sure heâs just in shock. Iâm looking for any advice on how to help him thrive again! How often should I water/fertilize if itâs a new home and new soil?
Hiii, Iâm new to planting seeds, Iâve always had plants that were a little past the seedling stage. I just planted some garden sage seeds and wondering if any one has an advice on how to help it thrive. I have it in a terrarium, made a good drainage layer, and gave it plenty of room for the roots to grow.
So you can grow a plant from a pineapple top!! This one has been here 3 days and already has these little roots. It's really easy to do, simply grab the leaves, twist it off the fruit, peel the bottom 4-7 layers of leaves or untill you see little brown stubs between them, and then put it in a jar so the stubs touch the water. They will grow into roots and they actually will not grow secondaries well until they're in soil so you can just plant them as soon as they're an inch long. It blooms for me every few months and the blooms are red and last a while. You can pollinate them to make fruit if you have more than 1 plant, too! The whole thing smells faintly of piña colada and is all in all really pretty. Bright inderect light and water twice a week as it is a rainforest plant!!
2nd mango seed finally sprouted! I think I may have planted it upside down đłđ€Ł
I'm so excited. After a month in water she finally is starting to get roots
Came home to this mess from my cats knocking my plant off the shelfâŠ.. can I propagate this??? How??? đ
I donât know if these are too big/tall for propogating but these antique milk bottles look so pretty like this I had to tryâŠ
My milkweed seedlings are very happy! I'm just wondering if anyone knows how long I can keep them in such a shallow container? I know they have a long taproot. I just didn't expect them to grow so fast! They only just sprouted a little over a week ago. Transplanting them outdoors is risky this early in the season, as I am still getting snow/frost! đŹ What should I do?
Uodate: Mango sprout is coming along nicely and pineapple has its first new growth! đ
A quick update: Very proud to see these three little babies coming out! Two leaves on left side on to each other like twins. đ„°
Hello! Does anyone have any tricks or tips they use to coax their plants into either sending off runners or making corms? I want to share my plants with my friends without cutting mine but so far none have made corms as far as I know. Thanks!
hi!! i have this propagation of an unknown plant (maybe some type of pothos) and itâs starting to root!! Would it be safe to cut the excess stem under where the root is sprouting before planting later? Or can i plant it with the stem
Trying to propagate this monstera cutting. Are those white fuzz spots roots? Any tips, tricks, or advice on propagating monstera cuttings would be greatly appreciated.
Propagated these golden pothos clippings in water almost three months ago and today they were finally rooted enough that I repotted them! This was my first time propagating anything and Iâm normally not that good with plants so Iâm very excited about it :)
My African Violet propagation sprouted! I took five leaves from the momma plant when she was looking less than healthy in case she didnât make it, and this is the only one thatâs sprouted so far. I had to give up on three, but Iâm happy because this is my first time propping African Violets! This prop is about 2.5 months old. The momma plant is super healthy now too đ€đ„ł
