Help! My water propagation stems keeping rotting and iâm having to cut further and further up the stem to rid the cutting of the rot. I let them callous but they still go mushy. Any tips?

My Peru monstera props are finally growing decent roots. This my first time successfully propagating something. Iâve been watching videos on tiktok that say DO NOT PUT THE ROOTS DIRECTLY IN SOIL! They suggest using a material with more airflow (starts with L but canât remember the name right now). Should I listen to this advice or will I be successful using soil once the root system is established enough? Thanks!

hello im propagating a money tree and after 4 weeks of letting it sit in water this is all I have, is this roots or mold the second picture is some I just cut away because it looked moldy to me and I put the rest back in water, plant is still alive and healthy but not seeing any roots - any advice or suggestions?
