I have been propagating my dragon tree in water for several weeks and the roots are growing nicely, but they’re growing off the side of the cutting instead of the bottom. Should I cut off more of the bottom where no roots are growing before re planting the cutting?
Anyone have transplanting tips for my cute little money plant? Can’t wait to give it a new home and name😊
I had a syngonium albo cutting in water over winter. It developed pink vines in addition to the typical pink leaf stems for this variety. I cut off about 16 nodes to propagate two weeks ago. I plan to fill a pot with them. The little cuttings started putting out tiny leaves in only 2 weeks. I’m waiting for signs of new roots before putting them in soil. Syngonium Albo is my favorite variety of arrowhead plants! Easy care, beautiful variegations and lovely pink accents! Highly recommended especially since their prices have dropped in the last year. 😍
Does my ZZ prop’s roots look big enough for me to transfer her to soil yet? I’m kinda new to propagating and I want to make sure she survives. Thanks!
Hello, I’m new to propagation (and Planta) and trying a few different methods I’ve seen online. One I came across is using a poly bag, roughly 3”x12” size, fill the bottom with soil, add a single cutting and seal the top of the bag to keep it humid. Anyone tried this and have any tips? I assume still need to water from time to time and mist cutting, but how regularly?
Currently propagating a Monstera Plant! Here’s what it looks like right now. Any advice?
Does anyone have any tips for how to get the best results when moving propagations into soil?
I got a rather expensive Hoya Polyneura cutting in moss. It immediately began dropping all leaves except one. I thought it was close to dead. So, I put it in the plant graveyard outside in a pot where a fern was resting in peace. It turns out it chose life and put out a new growth point with 4 new leaves. The fern resurrected and put out new growth, as well. 😆
Any tips on how to grow an apple tree from seeds?
My propagation journey is going fine so far, I’ve planted several in soil that are thriving. But I have 2 questions: 1. This fuzzy stuff around the roots is definitely mold right? It keeps happening and it’s surprisingly hard to get off, I have to really scrape at it but eventually can get it off. 2. What do y’all mean when you say wait 2 days for it to callous? I’ve been cutting the ends, dipping in rooting powder, and then putting in water like 15 min later. Am I supposed to be waiting a few days for the rooting powder to fully dry first? Won’t the props die? Thanks! =)
Just wanted to show off all the props I have going right now.
Has anyone used rooting hormone powder for water propagation or is it used only for soil? Any tips are appreciated!
Has anyone propagated this before? Mines getting a little bare in some spots so I want to give it a trim and try to propagate. I think it has nodes. Can I just prop it in water?
Also does anyone know if I can propagate the leaves of this plant or just stems?
Hey guys, My plant is getting a little unruly but I’m not sure how to propagate. Any tips?
Hi everyone I was wondering how would I make my monstera stay on the corner and not float around the photo with me holding it is how I would like it to stay
What happens if I cut my pothos at the base of the moss pole? 🤔 So this neon Pothos has been growing on a moss pole for about 6 months. He’s doing great but I’d really like it to be a fuller plant. Then I got to thinking… could I cut it at soil line to promote growth from the base while also keeping the growth on the pole? My Googling lead me to many, many posts about chopping the tops off of moss pole plants but no answer on what would happen to a bottom chop 🤔 Like I would do nothing except cut at the soil line (between nodes) and then just leave the 2 pieces to do their thing. I’m sure the bottom would grow new shoots buuuuut what would happen to the dude hanging on the pole? Would it just keep growing? Would its bottom node find the soil in the pot through the moss pole? Surely it has actually done that already? Maybe I should just try it????
please could someone let me know what to do here? clueless 😳
I tried to propagate one of my succulents this is what it looks like does anyone have any tips?
