Propagating a Fiddle Leaf Fig Advice This is my first time doing something drastic like this. This guy has become too big and is growing unevenly. I'm going to prune him back right about there and propagate the branch I'd love some advice from those who have done this! I intend to do water propagation. I ordering some rooting hormone and Keiki's cloning paste. What worked for you? What didn't and what would you do differently? Thanks!
Hey! Im a beginner planter, and my friend gave me two props she had to get me started, both are starting to grow new leaves, im just wondering when i should transfer them to a new pot? They seem to be doing well but im not sure what the timeline looks like for that kind of stuff
My orchid got root rot. I sadly over watered it straight after a new shoot appeared. I want to try and save it so I cut off the only viable part of the plant to try re-prop. I’ve taken the bottom set of leaves off of both my cuttings, what do I do now? Can I water prop? Do I need to wait for ends to callus? Is this even possible?
I’m digging up elephant ears - I have teeny to large - do I plant them now or should I over winter get? Zone 8a - I can pile leaves on them to insulation….Do I need to keep the teenies in a pot for the winter?
Hello, I need some advice with propagating my monstera esqueleto. Should I trim off the bottom leaves so that I can place these in larger cups of water? Thank you in advance.
I need some advice - this spotted begonia is starting to get wierd dark spots on its leaves. I moved it out of direct sun but it's still getting the spots. For context, I was given this propogate because it was dying from running out of water but idk how long it went without. The yellowish roots are from when it dried out, and it looks like new roots are growing above. Any help is appreciated I want to save this guy!!!

Happy prop wall hehe 💚
I’m not what you would call patient but I’ve been trying to root this for a yr! Finally I have a leaf ! I have no clue what it is I got it in a mystery box . My luck I spent a yr rooting a node of a plant I already have but I can say I stuck with it 😀
I’m starting my first attempt at propagating succulents, I’m planning on getting a few more leaves to use but I don’t want to do too much until I know I can do this. I’ve placed it down flat on some soil and gently misted it. I’m still a little new to the whole plant thing, but I’ve really wanted to try this. Any advice?
after years and years of throwing spider plant seed pods back in the mother plants’ soil, i finally have some seeds that sprouted. i read online that the seeds are nearly impossible to sow intentionally and that only increased my determination. it seems to help if they are planted as soon as possible after the pod cracks. this spider plant was out on the porch this summer and i think the extra heat is what allowed them to germinate.
I have a silver satin pothos vine that I accidentally snapped the roots off of when repotting. I was given advice to cut the vine in half and place in water with plant food and vitamins till it grows more roots, so I put a couple drops of each solution into this jar. However I’ve noticed the solution getting cloudy and a little stinky and think I see mold? What am I doing wrong? Edges of leaf starting to look strange.
Help, As you can see I’ve never taken this out of its original pot. She’s kept on growing and growing and I know I need to do something with her… I now have a new pot for her (me thinking this will solve it lol) but what do you experts suggest :) x
Sooo I foolishly watered my Monstera in the heat of the day in direct Texas sun and fried the stems to a hard crisp. It was pretty badly wilted but I really really hoped it would make a comeback. Today I accepted that if I want to save the bulk of this plant, it will need to be propagated, which I’ve never successfully done before. So this is where it started and the prop set up. To my surprise, when I was cutting (between nodes as the YouTube video instructed) I found that it had started new growth beneath the burn sites, and the smaller plant was growing some new roots above the burn 🥹 I am very hopeful!! Also, I had put the cuttings straight into water but a friend told me I should let them dry for a few hours first, and that I should cut the one that started new roots and let them continue growing in water, can anyone confirm??
Next batch of props! 1. Mini Monstera 2. Cebu Blue Pothos 3. Satin Pothos
They have been there for about 2 weeks now and I still see no new roots. I change the water out regularly. Is there anything else I can do or is just time now?
My first successful propagation Syngonium white butterfly/ albo and philodendron painted lady!
What’s the best way to propagate this dumb cane? Well… what’s left of it. I thought it was done so I set it outside and it started to grow leaves.
Is this ready to be potted? I would’ve potted other water propagated cuttings with less roots by now, but this is my first time dealing with leca and my local plant shop keeps saying to wait. I’ll also be away for 5 days next week so I don’t know if I should wait until I come back? Or should I pot now? I’m also worried about shock and waiting too long, like if these roots get too used to leca and don’t take to transferring to soil well. Also, some of the roots look hairy like mold? Is that normal?
