one of my coworkers had a pot of succulents in her classroom. apparently they hadn’t been repotted in two years, and they were very overwatered. i looked at them right then- my god were they sad. i took them off of her hands, and hopefully i’m gonna be able to bring it back. i don’t really know what it doing but ive done lots of research. i chose some healthy leaves, hopefully they’ll start making little baby succulents. have been in this container near my window for around 4-5 days now. one of my other coworkers also had some practically dead succulents at home, and i’ve seemingly revived them from the dead. idk if i’m doing this right though! ugh first pic is all of the pots w their plants, second is of the babies i thought were dead, last one is more from the 2 year old plants

Quick, someone tell me pruning is good for my plants! 😥 Just took some cuttings of my work plants to give to friends. I love sharing, but I hate chopping my babies. 🫣

help help help! I put this jade pothos cutting in water a few days ago and it started to root very quickly, a day or two after the roots sprouted they started to brown?! its been probably less than 2 weeks in total that its been propagating, should I put it in dirt already or is it a fail???

I propagated this succulent but I don’t know what it is! Can someone tell me what kind of plant this is?

I have a couple of eucalyptus plants and some of them are starting to look like this. I’m new to these so I’m not really sure what I’m doing wrong yet. Someone please help me get them looking healthy again!

So I took all the little babies off of my cactus, and I’d like to repot them but I don’t really know how to go about it. Does anyone have any recommendations for me?? This is the cactus I took them off of for reference.

I literally forget about this prop constantly and it’s doing so freaking good… my first attempt at a cutting prop and I forgot to mark what it was… maybe I was just too excited? Well now I can’t remember if it’s hibiscus or rose and what color 😅🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️ but yay that root looks like it’s coming in big and strong!🥳🥳🥳

I’m searching for aphids on new plants so I have been looking at them with a magnifying glass. My summer savory has little bumps on the stems. Are they points from which the stem might propagate? Or some burrowing plant killer?

Are these cuts ok ?

Attempting to propagate a money tree. I’ve had this in water for 2 weeks. There’s a white filming substance that is around it but not sure if that’s the growth hormone coming in to help or bad? Also I’m assuming these white dots are roots starting but not certain, any advice? New to this world but loving it!!

Thank you to the advice offered on dealing with mold in my seedlings! Somewhat unfortunately, only 1/2 affected cells managed to survive that infection. Now that it's been over a couple of weeks, are these seedlings ready to step up to bigger planting pots?

I’ve had this plant propagating in water for a while now. It’s got a few good long roots and is even putting out new leaves. I believe it’s a philodendron but I was told it was a Pothos when I got the mother plant (picture attached) My question is, should I pot it in soil now or leave it in water and is this a Pothos or philodendron? The last two pictures are what it used to look like back in December, before I split the plant.

I had a large coleus for years that randomly died. I removed the plant from the pot but kept the soil. I just noticed today that a baby coleus is sprouting up. The pot is very large, at least a foot or more. Should I move this baby to a smaller pot or keep it there?

hey guys so i have this pothos prop and it’s been growing algae more than my others in the same area. it attempted to grow a new leaf but it got caught in the water so rotted, and the roots have been looking not great either. i swapped the pitcher completely and put peroxide in it, i haven’t trimmed the roots though. it’s just weird considering there’s an identical pitcher with props in it right next to it that hasn’t grown algae or had rot, makes me wonder if the pothos is the issue.

Hey I’m new here and just wondering if I did this right? I tried to propagate mint, polka dot plant and Petra croton 😁

I want to cut back the tallest leaf from the plant in the picture on the left and use it to make cuttings. That leaf is very different from ALL the others. It grew from nothing to tallest in very little time, it’s a little thinner and the base is very thin. The other leaves haven’t changed that much in two years and they have wide bases at the soil line. What is the tall, skinny, fast-growing leaf and will it make a good leaf for propagation? This is my first attempt. I’m going to cut the leaf off anyway so I have nothing to lose, but on the other hand I want to try to create more plants that look like the original, with nice wide leaves. The photo from two years ago has the yardstick. The strange leaf is in the other picture. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Apologies for possible confusion. There’s a k-pop concert at the stadium nearby and it’s a lot of chaos around.
