Spider babies are very durable. Propagate in soil or water. It does well in both. So, I just put it in soil. A few older leaves might die off while it sets roots in soil. I use rooting hormone powder in the soil if I’m in a hurry. I water with SuperThrive plant vitamins in both soil and water propagations.

With my spider plant babies I let them grow in water until they got better roots then I placed them in soil and now they are growing like crazy

I like putting it in water and letting bigger roots grow first. I think it makes it easier to pot in soil later.

the roots look great! like the above people said, putting it in water is the best option if you’re nervous. in my horticulture class today planted these in soil with less developed roots than that. I want spider plants so much because theyre so easy to propagate but I can never find them! very cute, good luck!
