Tissue culture is a propagation method done in a sterile lab environment. It allows plants to be propagated in large numbers very quickly. Most people let the labs do most of the work and buy tissue culture plants that are ready to be acclimated to non-sterile conditions.

It is possible to do DIY, but a bit involved. You basically use a plastic box as a sterile chamber, attach gloves to it so you can work inside the box, sterilize everything with isopropyl alcohol, and put plant cuttings into airtight containers with a gelatin medium called agar (each species gets a different agar recipe to provide it with nutrients. It has a lot of sugar in it, which is why everything needs to be sterile; it'd grow mold very easily in open air.) If you want to learn more, I'd recommend the plants in jars youtube channel

I learned this recently and have my first in a Starbucks cup lol 😂 but it’s doing well. We shall see how this goes. Palmstreet and whatnot apps are crazy for these and plants. I get in so much trouble ordering.
