Unfortunately not. To grow a full Pilea plant from a leaf cutting, and not just get a zombie leaf. You need to cut the node off with the leaf.

With this plant or just in general what I do ? In general I have a greenhouse box with a humidity monitor(55-60%) the soil mix half fast draining half rich nutrient potting mix just to keep the soil damp but not wet for too long since it’s in the greenhouse it will cycle to water when it starts to dry out I water as needed and keep an eye on it sorry if I missed anything

I've also managed to propagate one which had a short stem. It's a bit down to luck since you won't have as much rooting hormones that close to the leaf but that being said, it's not impossible. I'd give it a try 🙂

Can this type of plant be propagated from cutting the leaf in half and “planting” both halves? If it is, that might be an easier way to propagate a leaf with a short stem.

Yes you can. You don’t need the stem at all. Cut the leaf in half (not symmetrical halves; top part and bottom part. Put the part in the soil vertically with the cut part in the soil, and it will grown new plants. It takes some time, so be patient.

Is this good? (Bottom watering right now; used the top and bottom halves as said.) Also, how often should i water them?

Interesting, I'd only ever seen them divided or nodal cuts
