Recently propagated my pothos for the first time. The cuttings have been in water for 2 weeks now. How long should I wait for the roots to get before potting in soil? Do I have too many cuttings in the glasses (15-20)? Thanks.

I would wait longer for the roots. I still haven’t planted mine and they’re considerably long, with several offshoots. I think you should spread the cuttings out a bit more to another jar if you can, so the roots don’t tangle and so they all get enough sun.
1 likeYou can wait a long time to put them in soil if you want. How many separate plants do you want? The roots could get tangled up enough it’s hard to untangle them.
0 likesI was planning on putting them in two 6 inch pots. I am being impatient & wanting to plant them as soon as I can
1 likeWaiting a couple more weeks is probably a good idea. It is a forgiving plant though. You can leave them in the glasses they’re in if they’re all going into the same pot.
2 likesWait until they grow secondary roots & those roots are an inch or two long.
3 likesI think I’ve seen pothos live in water before. Has anyone else seen that?
0 likesYes I keep mine in just water and they do great!
