Morning! Just gave my leggy gal a much needed haircut. Now what?! I’ve propped these before but it’s been years. I know I need to let the cuttings callous for a few days before repotting but what about the mother plant? Should I apply cinnamon or some such to the “wounds”? Feeling a little overwhelmed so any help is much appreciated 🪴

Let the cuttings callous, maybe a day or two, then pot. Water the mother plant as usual—she should be fine. Make sure all are getting good light. You’ll start to see new growth before you know it.

Sounds like a plan. How deep in the soil would you recommend?

Take off some of the bottom leaves to make sure the cutting can stand in the soil. You won’t have to go that deep.

Okay cool; truly wasn’t sure. Popped off some bottom leaves today while the cuttings callous over. Will report back, TY!

UPDATE: Still not seeing any new growth on the mother plant after I chipped her. Same light, watering when dry, etc. Been about 3 wks. Panic or patience?
