Just found this lil’ fella on the ground in an outside cafe (under his hanging momma). 2 questions for y’all: what kind of plant is he & will he grow roots if I put him in water? Please & thank you!

This is a pothos, and he will absolutely grow roots if you put him in water. They tend to be fast growers in the growing season.

YEAH! Bonus plant!!! The gal at the cafe gladly gave me a small cup of water so I could get him home…think I’ll name him Sojourner😊

It’s a golden pothos! If you put it in water it should grow good if it has nodes!

Pothos put it in lime free water. Part sun. When it get roots, then you can put it in soil. Good luck!

Golden pothos, put it in water with the nodes submerged like this and when the roots grow their own secondary roots, it’s ready to repot.

When y’all say “NODES” I take it that’s a little bump that happens at a joint? Because these two little leaves have that halfway up the stem, but the very bottom of it doesn’t have one of those. You can’t see it from that original picture…I’ll add a 2nd on to this thread in a moment (have to extricate myself from under my Siamese cat!)
