Have a philodendron cutting from a friend - had great roots but it’s been planted for 6 weeks or so and hasn’t done anything! Any recommendations? Should I repot it?

Did it have a node for growing new leaves?

I believe it did but it was close to the roots so I ended up putting it under the soil

Ok. I recommend checking on it to make sure it didn’t die.

I don’t see a growth node. It COULD be a zombie leaf unfortunately😞

Uh oh. Well, that would explain things! Seems like I’m a cultivator of zombie leaves 🤣

That’s happened to me before. They are pretty while they last!

I would put it in water and watch it before giving up. The soil in your pot doesn’t look good and it looks like it’s too big.

Any recs on soil types? I mixed general potting soil with perlite and orchid bark but it does look a bit odd now that you point it out

This is my cutting. It took about 4 weeks for this new leaf to unfurl and grow. Also my home brew soil mix

It’s important to keep in mind that they will focus on root growth FIRST. I’d put it in a much smaller pot and let it do its thing. 😊
