My spider plant keeps growing up and up but has not given off any babies, is there anyway to promote this? It’s getting quite tall compared to others I’ve seen but it doesn’t have the stability to maintain the height.

Looks like a happy healthy plant! Maybe it’s just enjoying the single life and isn’t ready to settle down, LOL. Kidding I have a lot of spider plants and the ones that shoot off babies is the one that I take outside (where they dry out faster) and the one that gets totally neglected and sits near a west facing window at my office. So based on that, I think the most light you can provide, and maybe a little neglect might be a winning recipe. FWIW, I do tend to think I get surprised by offshoots when the plants are a bit water starved. My well papered inside only spider plants haven’t sprouted little ones. Just my experience!
0 likesI have two spider plants. The older one probably didn’t pup until it was in a 6” pot. She’s only ever had grow light. I have let her dry out too much soooo many times, and I can’t really say if that affected when she flowered. All I know is after that first one, she’s been making babies like a farm animal! I think she’s in a 7” pot now. I’m lollygagging to repot cuz she’ll have outgrown her spot of two and a half years!
