Why didn’t my Ivy cuttings grow? The mother plant was really healthy. Other cuttings have grown quite well here. I added root boost to the water as instructed. I’m certain that I grew Ivy’s from cuttings from my mom’s plants when I was a kid. These have been not growing for about 10 days and yesterday I cut the bottom parts off because they were getting rotten and I put the leaf stem apex in the water instead. Will that work? Any words of advice?

Idk but I have these and I swear by them, roots at the very least are always already showing after just a week!! I got them on Amazon I think they are like $15 a bottle and $18 for two, great deal!! I think now that the kiddos are back in school I’m gonna start selling some rooted clippings, keep me busy and some extra money in my pockets!!

Thanks for the suggestion. I do use root hormones in the water. I use liquid.

Are you letting the stems callus for an hour to two before you put them in water? It may be the bottom is getting icky because it hasn’t had time to callus first.

No! I’ve never even heard of such a thing. I will look it up.

I have heard of it but never the reason for doing it.

I have some ivy cuttings right now in water and the roots are growing but pretty slow. I’m very new to propagation so I have no idea what the trick is but I can’t even get pathos propagations to work so it’s definitely possible to do it!

I am super good at propagating it’s getting them to stay alive once they are ready to go into dol soil so at this point I have a ton I’ve just kept as hydroponic plants but all of those were started with the root drops I posted above!! I’ve actually been selling propagations on market place and that’s been fun and puts a little extra money in my pockets so I can justify buying more plants!! 🌱 ✨💚✨🌱

Those Ivy clippings never grew. I really thought they would be easy. They were good healthy samples. They are my only propagation fail so far.
