Heyo! I bought this rubber tree ruby from Trader joes because of her beautiful ruby colored leaves, but only has one branch. Id love to have just one straight trunk. Would it be possible to propagate this branch one day and plant it straight up? It just looks so awkward to me, unless branching another stem would be better.

Yes, you can propagate this plant by cutting off a couple inches from the top. You can put in water and get it rooted. I found this plant took a while to root from cutting. Also, by cutting a couple inches from the top you will encourage the plant to become bushier. You can also hide what you don’t like by setting the pot in a deep decorate pot so you don’t see so much of the bottom

I’ve been dying to know how to propagate these! I have a beautiful one that is THRIVING and I would love to prop it, but I’m worried about killing the propagation. 😅 Any tips/tricks for successful props of this plant?

I like both of those ideas! Probably just the pot for now as a short term solution and propagate next year during the early spring. Thank you!
