Has anyone ever started house plants from seeds/bulbs? I really want to try, but I’m not sure how to get started. Would I need to buy a mini greenhouse?

It really depends on the plant. I have jewels of opar as a houseplant, some pretty basic begonias, two types of coleus, and a dwarf eucalyptus I started from seed. I also have a couple colocasias from corms. The coleus and eucalyptus needed a greenhouse but the others did fine in ambient conditions. They're not particularly fussy plants, though, so I'm sure it's different with fancier things!

I would at least recommend a heat mat! Also, I thoroughly recommend researching if the specific seed species undergoes any type of dormancy. Here’s a chart from my professor that I’ve found helpful for understanding the different dormancy types and what to do about them. Seed packets should have the scientific name on them so just enter that name into google and ask what type of dormancy that species exhibits then follow this chart.
