Hello fellow plant lovers! This branch of my tomatoes was torn off the plant by accident. Is there any hope in propagating it? There are a few clusters of tomatoes on it and it’d be great to save somehow. I’ve never done propagation before. Thank you!

Yes you can I believe tomatoe plants can grow roots technically from anywhere on the stem but the plat should be atleast 6 inches or it might not have enough energy to put out roots and may die off definitely plant them nothing to lose

I would take off any tomatoes because they’re just sapping energy from the plant that now needs to put energy into growing roots to save itself. Good luck! 😊💚🪴

I’ve had many tomato stems break off. For the tomatoes, you can put them in a brown paper bag and they will ripen.

Oh great to know! I was sad to just toss them. (Btw love your username, is it in reference to the documentary of the same name?)

You can cut it into two stems and bury them at least half way into the soil to grow a lot of roots. Remove all leaves and fruit below the soil.

You can bury leggy tomato plants up to their necks if you start growing them late in the spring season. They put out roots along the stems.
