So my spider plant has quite a few babies, some getting decently big, however none of them are growing baby roots so I can’t cut them off and propagate… does anyone know why they aren’t growing roots? I’ve propagated a baby from it that had roots a couple months ago but since then no more with tiny roots :/

I've personally never had issue propogating with no roots. I just cut them off, stick them in water and wait. They grow just fine. You could try dunking them in water or misting them every few days, or putting a small pot with dirt under them but maybe just try cutting one and starting it to see how it does?

Ohhh maybe I should start the propogation in water instead of straight into soil

It's my favorite way to prop! I love to watch the roots grow. Just make sure to change the water every 2-3 days :)

Do I submerge the whole propagation? Or put it in a little cup?

I put mine in a little cup or something similar, just enough to get the bottom wet, where the roots would grow

I agree! Have always done it this way too! Great results.

How do you get your plant to produce those baby ones?
