Seeing a couple new roots coming out the bottom. This is a nursery pot though and I’ve had her maybe a month now. It’s a Pothos. Should I repot or is this okay? I’m totally new to this and she’s one of the 2 first plants I’ve ever had.

Pothos are hearty and she could thrive quite awhile still in the same pot, but Pothos grow quite fast, so if you want her to spread faster, a bigger pot would be good.
3 likesI do want to see how much she grows and thrives. I watered her today. Should I wait a while before repotting?
1 likeI have grown pothos for about ten years and found them to thrive even if neglected. They are easier to repot when dry or only damp, so waiting a couple days is good. But even if you repot, today, she would likely thrive. As the vines spread and grow, they can get pretty long, so you can shape her any way you like. You can put a support stick or growing pole in the center of the pot to wrap vines around to grow upright, or spread vines across the top of cupboards or a piano. Wonderful plant. I currently have five varieties of pothos in various shades. Really fun.

1 likeOne thing I’ll add to the great advice you’ve already gotten…pothos and other ivies like to be snug in their pots. So if you do repot, don’t size up too much at once. They put all their energy into growing roots before leaves. So if the roots are snug, you’ll get a bushier plant and longer vines.
2 likesOh thanks a lot! It’s in a 10cm wide pot right now. Would 5cm up be good?
0 likesYes, that should be a good size. Just know the leaves may take a bit to multiply while it gets used to its new pot.
2 likesAlso, you don’t have to worry about them being root bound (excessive roots) as much as other plants. I generally repot my pothos plants once a year, but if they aren’t the size i want, I’ll cut off some of the roots and put them back in the same pot.
