Trying to start some new propagations. Do I need to give all of these Christmas cactus starts more room or will they at least start like this then I can give them more room when I see which ones will even live?

This looks so much like how I started mine. I took several cuttings from my MIL and put them in water first. Then once they grew roots, I planted them in soil. They all started with one or 2 leaves and they’ve been doing pretty well so far.
4 likesAwesome! Thank you so much for your comment! I greatly appreciate it! One of my best friends gave me a ton of different plant starts including about 34-35 of these Christmas cactus propagations. Not all of them were viable but I saved all of these that were and they’ve all been in water until now when I planted them all to try and give them more of a chance. I think there are about 30 of them that I’m trying to start and if they do well then. I will move them to other more separate plants.
1 likeHow would I care for christmas starts such as how often to water, lighting, and water soluble fertilizer?

0 likesI apologize but I’m not familiar with canna lilies to know what they need to offer any advice.
0 likesI've found planting lots of littles together helps with keeping soil moisture consistent
1 likeThank you. That’s good to know as they mostly still need to grow any roots but the soil will need to stay moist for that to happen. Hopefully no rotting though!
