Gifted this vari Monstera - concerned that the top leaf has already given birth and the stem above cut close. Will she stay phantom or does she have hope?

      Yeh, the two I have are variegated, will post pic in a moment

      It's possible to get good variegation from a low variegated node

      No my bad, I mean’t will I get any new leaves given that the top leaf has already “had a baby”

    Oohh gotcha, it should branch off again. It can take a bit on a mid cut

      Thanks! Cut looks quite close to the “mother” leaf - I’ve had new leaves when I’ve cut my big monstera so I know where the newbie should appear - my first monstera cutting though!

    It is close. But since ot popped a leaf, that means the meristem wasn't damage. So should be fine
