My watermelon dischidia is growing very well this summer! I want to propagate some of it so I can have her in other parts of the house as well. I’ve never propagated a plant before, so I don’t want to mess it up. Any help would be amazing and greatly appreciated!!!

take a stem cutting with at least one node (the small bump on the stem where leaves grow) and place it in water or moist soil. Roots should develop within a few weeks, and then you can transplant your new plant into a pot

Thank you so much for that! I’ll give it a go and try to post some updates as well! Does it matter where the stem cutting is from? For example, could I use one of the lengthier vines that she has to try and propagate from?

You can use any vine! I know the more you trim the bushier it’ll get! I’m excited to see updates!

If you have a pothos you can put that in with the cuttings to make them root faster. Also before you replant the cutting, make sure you have a few inches of roots and while it’s rooting I just only top up the water, I don’t replace it, as the water has all the rooting chemicals from the plant. (Or so I heard) unless something rotting I just top up.

That’s exactly what I do. And adding the Pothos cuttings to the water with your props works as a rooting hormone and stimulates roots to grow. I agree with topping off. Plus I’ve too many props to be changing water weekly.
