I haven’t gotten monstera to propagate myself. But pothos are the easiest plant to prop in water. I usually see a root or two pop by the third day. I like to apply keiki paste to the nodes to speed the process. Also, pro tip I learned here: you can put a pothos cutting in with other cuttings to help speed the process if those other, harder to prop cuttings.
3 likesPothos are super fast propagaters! I always use bottled water instead of tap because it seems to work better for me. Pothos release chemicals and stuff to help other plant prop pieces grow roots quicker as well! I’ve only propped a monstera adansonii and it took a WHILE until I put it in with my pothos props I had going.

1 likeI tried water prop for my monstera and I wasn’t getting results so I switched to perlite/stratum mix medium and it rooted like crazy
1 likeI bought a monstera deliciosa cutting from FB, and placed it in a rinsed glass vase with filtered water. Its been over 5 months since I got it and there are crazy roots and new growth
