Hi 🌱 friends, I’ve had this rubber plant in my bathroom for about two weeks now and haven’t seen much growth. I keep the window open most of the day and it gets direct sunlight. I’ve only watered once last week since I got it and it’s still in the nursery pot. I’m just curious as to why the spike on the top left side has remained the same in the two weeks since I’ve had it. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal?

you should like you’re doing everything right! He’s probably just still acclimating. Especially if the root ball is smaller than the pot, i find they grow roots first before spitting out new leaves. I have a schivereana and sometimes it will give me a leaf every few weeks, sometimes not 🤣

Completely normal. Mine took a few months in the new home to sprout new leaves but once it started it kept going. Good time of year I’d give it some 10-10-10 or even 3-1-2 fertilizer in the next few weeks but give it time to adjust first

Any brand from your local supermarket/nursery will do just fine. Even amazon, but I like to support the local plant shops. I’d go 10-10-10 for the rubber tree that’s what I use for my ficus. 3-1-2 more for my monsteras/fiddle leaf. Either way u go just be sure to follow the fertilizer:water dilution ratios listed. I find a lot of people are worried about “burning” their leaves with fertilizer so most of my friends/family don’t fertilize their plants nearly enough. They can add a lot of growth if given in the correct amount and intervals at the right time of year :) cheers

Honestly YouTube is a game changer too but be careful I’ll find myself down the rare plant care rabbit hole quite fast lol

Normal stuff ficuses (fici?) do. Still in the acclimating period, so you won’t see much growth until it acclimates.
