Do you like small plants/big plants? Colors or green? How’s your humidity? & how far away from a north or south facing window?

I like both small/big. I’m open to whatever. The humidity in the summer is perfect alil chill in the winter not to much though.

My first two plants were a snake plant and a spider plant and they both did well in partial sun for some hours and then shade the rest of the time. Obviously they prefer more light but sometimes that’s just not possible 🤷🏼

Peperomia obtusifolias and goldfish plants. They both come in a variety of shapes and colors, they can handle a variety of light conditions, they’re both non-toxic to people and pets, they’re usually pretty inexpensive (most peperomia are around $7-9 or $12-14 where I live, depending on the size, and my orange goldfish plant was $7 when I bought it and the one with the red speckled flowers was about $20 for that size), and the goldfish plant is an easy plant to get to flower. I’ve found they do best in a quality cactus mix (I swear by Espoma’s cactus and succulent mix for mine) and completely drying out between waterings. They pretty much act like succulents for me, so I love gifting and recommending them to beginners that don’t have tons of light. Here’s a few of mine, for example 😊 (If you want to know what any of these are specifically, in order, they should be a marbled Peperomia obtusifolia, a Nematanthus ‘Shady Lady Mae’, a variegated Peperomia obtusifolia ‘Sweet and Sour’, and a Nematanthus gregarius)

(Here’s a regular variegated peperomia obtusifolia, close ups of the flowers of my goldfish plants, and a peperomia clusiifolia ‘red margin’)
