Three week Maranta prop update 👨🏾‍🌾 Half of the cuttings have decent roots now. Those are going back in with parent plant. The other half isn’t quite ready yet, but I do see some new growth points activating. Will give those another couple weeks in the prop station.

Gorgeous! I have a red maranta that I’d like to propagate. How do you know where to cut?

Thanks! You’ll need to cut about a half an inch or so below the nodes. Look for these joints in the trailing branches. The red lines are roughly where you would cut.

The ones with smaller roots went black in water under grow lights and on top of a heating pad. I added a bit of clonex rooting gel and diluted liquid fert to the water.

That's beautiful!! Any advice on how to help mine thrive, she's not doing so well?!

Yours looks pretty good to me! My only suggestion would be to consider removing the stakes. These types of marantas are not vining / climbing plants, they are crawlers. It could probably still work, it’s just not a common setup. What kind of potting medium is it in?

I gotcha! I put the stake bc it's gotten so weak and that big stalk falls over, lol. I'm gonna take it out and let it do its thing. I have it in miracle grow-moisture control potting soil
