Depends on how you want it to look. I’d wait till spring to do anything, but…. You can cut anywhere between those rings. Those are its nodes. You want at least 2-3 nodes per prop, and the more mature parts the better. You also can cut it right back and leave no leaves and it will branch from there. I like my props in either water or sphagnum moss, so I don’t have to worry about soil moisture. Make sure you let the cuttings callous over extremely well before putting it into whatever medium you choose.

0 likesI just cut it under the 2nd or 3rd node and place it in water with a support so only the roots are in water.
