Hello I got this cute little self watering pot today, I have tons of house plants but I’ve always used soil, leca or pon. This one shows you add water to the clear pot then sit the terracotta pot in it so the pot absorbs the water. My question is can I use soil in this type of pot? I am currently out of leca and pon. So was hoping soil would work. Thanks in advance!!

You definitely can and I think soil might actually absorb the soil better since the water sticks to the terracotta. Such a cute pot!

You can still over water in those pots. I speak from experience. Don't put so much water in the clear pot that it comes too far up the sides of the terracotta pot, especially if there's a hole in the bottom of the terracotta.

It does not have a hole in the bottom of the pot but I will definitely remember not to fill it too much! Thx

I have gotten away from self-watering pots but I did just buy two of these also and I put African Violets that I had propagated into them.

Can anybody tell me how to change my name here? Not sure how it picked up one of my plant locations as my name!

Of course! You select the tab at the bottom of the screen with the plant icon, then scroll up to the settings icon in the top right corner, then choose "edit profile" and then "display name." From there you can choose a new name!
