I need advice on propagating my Hoya idk how to go about pruning her
I put my Hoya in water to prop and it took a LONG time (like 3.5 months) but it’s pushing out a lot of roots now and I’m hoping to put in soil soon. Make your cuts like any other plant, let it callus over for an hour and place in water in a bright sunny location
3 likesHave you tried rooting hormone drops? I’ve been propagating Hoyas since January they’re almost ready to prop I’m starting to see the secondary roots!
1 likeI just got rooting powder I think I’ll trim some and try it out! How long do I leave the powder on before putting it in the water?
0 likesI think I just didn’t realize how long it can take
0 likesI haven’t tried these yet but I’ll get some for my next round of props!
1 likeI’ve been able to propagate these by putting cuttings directly in water
1 likeI have some I’ve done it water! Look for the little bumps (aka nodes) on the stem and cut a bit bellow them and plop them in some water! I didn’t add anything to my water but BE PATIENT!! It will take a while lol. Also pruning is similar to some other plants that when the leaves becoming more spread out its is taking a lot of energy (so the long bits normally!) best of luck! Your Hoya is beautiful💚
