The easiest most cost-effective way to propagate is to just put it in a glass of water near a bright window. If you have honey, turmeric or cinnamon on hand, I’ve heard those can work to prevent the cutting from rotting when in water. Dipping the cutting into the honey, turmeric, or cinnamon the same way you would with rooting hormone, just a tiny bit on the cut site. Change the water every week or sooner if it gets green or cloudy. I saw a video online that compared different growth mediums for different plant types excluding succulents and cacti, and the best root development was with sphagnum moss.
1 likePersonally I propagated mine in sphagnum Moss, or perlite. It did take a while but worked great. I feel these plants root slowly no matter what it’s in. I personally don’t use rooting hormones, so that is up to you, instead I use slow release fertilizer pellets to provide proper nutrients.
