Don’t think I kept pictures, but I did the same thing from a lemon seed in my ice tea on vacation with my Mom! It grew well and made a nice bonsai tree for about 5 years! Good luck on your journey!!!

It was around 3 feet tall and never fruited. I went on a cruise and left it too long and she never bounced back.

That wood looking thing to the right of this picture is all that’s left (the root knot)

I’ve heard that they’ve engineered a way to make fruit seeds not be able to produce more fruit so you don’t replicate their crop by just planting the seeds. I don’t know if all growers do this, but I know that a lot of them have patents on their fruit and it can be illegal to grow their patented fruit 😅 that might be why it never produced more lemons

Ooooooooh!!! Good to know!!! Well it’s an experiment and if we get lemons then we’ll make lemonade! Hahaha.

I’ve done exactly this! But wasn’t expecting how needy they are, especially when potted! I’m into my second year with mine now and they’re very poorly because I’ve struggled to keep up with their maintenance. Also don’t forget you’re growing a tree 🤣 I have no idea what to do with mine when they get bigger!

Oh yea? Mines only like 10” tall now and so far hasn’t been too needy but good to know for next year! I’m planning on putting her either in my backyard or my aunts backyard when she gets bigger. Tho I heard she might never fruit so I hope that’s not the case!!!

On the app it says that mine won’t be fully grown for about 4/5 years, which is when they’ll start flowering. But I did this purely as a “I wonder if I could…” experiment. Not thinking about what comes next! But all the best with your growing and try to keep on top of it 😁
