I’m trying to propagate an aloe Vera plant and I’m just wondering how long it takes for it to start showing signs of growth or to grow roots/ basically just to know if it’s a successful propagation or not.

I have one in water and it’s not put a new root out yet put a new leaf I’d say new leaves and new roots means it’s working ❤️

How long did yours take to make a new leaf ?

If it’s a whole plant not just a leaf, it should have a new leaf once it gets comfortable in the water, mine put a new one out within two weeks of moving it to water! Granted I’m not totally sure if mines going to make it either but signs of new growth is always good!
1 likeMine took almost 5 weeks to show me signs of a single root, and then another 5-6 until the roots were strong enough to pot in soil. As long as it doesn’t look like its dying just keep waiting! *I was propagating in water so had a much easier time seeing the growth under the “soil” line*

Can you do single leaf aloe propagation in water alone?
0 likesI believe you can, but you need to let it callus over for a week+ before. Maybe do bit of research before trying it, I’ve only ever done it with stems that had root nodes.

Yeah from what I’ve researched soil seemed like the best/ like only clear option for a single leaf propagation. I guess I’ll just have to work on my patience but if it goes well in soil I’ll definitely make a cutting from it in future to see if the water way works because I lobe being able to see the growth
