hi !! i’m new(ish) in the plant game, or have re-entered recently. i have a 5ft money tree (that omg i just got for $10 on fb marketplace) and am trying to propagate a couple little shoots from it! i have no idea what i’m doing honestly. i’ve propagated succulents before cause those are easy, but i’ve really been wanting to try this and see! so any tips, tricks, advice would be GREATLY appreciated :))

Make sure you have a node under the water and not just leaves and stems. The nodes are little bumps roots and other growths can come out of. I find these kinds of plants easier/faster to propagate than succulents (but I’ve never done a money tree before). Some people recommend candle wax or glue on the base so it doesn’t rot. I’ve found as long as the stem is fairly dry like it has sat out for a couple hours you’re usually fine. You got this!

I have found water propagating money tree to be excruciatingly slow … But I also chose to do it in the wrong time of year.
